Rude lady at the front didn't have a bag for my food

The food is good. But... everything is overpriced. We called in an order two days in advance and they never prepared it. Then they were out of turkey, coleslaw, and cobbler. Had to wait 45 minutes while they finally got everything ready. Extremely grumpy employees who weren't any help. Oh and we were charged full price.

Great place to eat if you are starving. The Brisket was by far the best thing on the menu. However, to be honest, it was much better, served cold the next day. All of the sides we tried where pretty disappointing. Very little flavor and kind of bland for a BBQ joint. However, they did include some garlic bread that made up for the lackluster mac and cheese. All of the staff where very friendly. The food was just kind of ho-hum.

My husband and I love bbq but most places out this way (from St Louis) don't have pulled pork. We love the pork and thought the brisket and sausage was good too. So good that we went the next day for more pulled pork. Sides were good too.

It was our first time there. The service was excellent. Friendly waitress very helpful on suggesting what was good. The food was very good. We had the brisket plate with coleslaw. It was delicious. We also had the short rib plate with mashed potatoes and beans. The ribs were so tender and lean. We are from Anthony nm and will definitely be going back to eat at Danny's Place!

They were out of ribs and mashed taters. But what I was able to get was good. Brisket and turkey.

Some of the best bbq in new mexico

We had the pulled pork, pork ribs, and brisket. Everything was amazingly delicious down to the bread and potato salad. Do not skip the potato salad! Real pit bbq for sure as you can smell the smoke when you walk in. Cozy interior, would be fun for a get together, as well as fast friendly service. I wish we lived here so we could come back!

We were seated quickly but service was slow. The BBQ was tasty! I would recommend the pulled pork which had a great spice rub. I also loved the grilled dinner rolls. This was a great place to stop after touring Carlsbad Caverns. There is parking around the back if it's full out front.

After a decent hike through Carlsbad we were starving! Lucky for us we were able to find this BBQ joint about 20 minutes from the caverns in the main city. We were seated immediately and greeted with Sweet tea! It was our first time in NM so I am glad they are still part of the south and sweet tea isn't frowned upon.I ordered the rib dinner with mashed potatoes and potato salad, and my wife got the brisket dinner with fried okra and a side salad.The dinner came with 5 ribs and a hearty amount of brisket mixed with lean and some fatty. They have 2 sauces one more sweet one more sour. The dinners also came with toast/garlic bread? This was by far my favorite part of the meal. The BBQ itself was solid, nothing I would rave about, but definitely hit the spot after some mild hiking.

Holiday inn express suggested this place and we loved it. Really nice staff. The food was super good, could have had an appetizer of just the bread and gravy. Great family place and happy with the price. Oh Good okra and potatoe salad. Heck all good.

Actually got recommended by the waitress from Chili's. She said they were good, but WOW! Best ribs I have ever eaten. Me and my son did an entire 2 meat (beef and ribs) and ordered a full rack to split afterwards. Great staff, friendly and helpful. And great atmosphere. I will be back if I ever get out that way again.

I drive to Carlsbad from Hobbs just to eat here. The people that run it are extra friendly & they keep it super clean! The food is terrific especially the smothered burrito and Tacos. They also have some of the best ice tea in town. We love Danny's Place

Best BBQ sandwich I think I've ever had!!!

Best meal in our travels on a 5000 mile rv road trip over 3 weeks. I am a no bs power lineman..It may have been 5 years past but its unforgettable brisket and hot grilled toast. Hot and fresh. Like at home.Very worth going out of your way !!We are critical of places that just throughout their food to you and your suppose to like it and then pay plent for mediocre . Dont miss this place..

Good food, friendly staff. Visited Carlsbad during Christmas for Lights on the Pecos. Would recommend it.

I ordered the three meat plate with brisket ribs and sausage. The ribs and sausage were very tasty but the brisked was a little dry and didn't have much flavor. My wife ordered the turkey and it was very good. The sides we ordered (beans and coleslaw) were very tasty. The service was very good and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The prices were very reasonable.

Great BBQ for a small town! Some of the best bbq I've had outside of Kansas City. My wife and I got ribs and loved them. I also got pulled pork and really enjoyed both of the sauces the house offered. A sweet BBQ and a spicy BBQ as well. I had a hard time deciding between the two. My wife really enjoyed the texas toast but I liked the mac n cheese and sweet potato fries.

The ribs and brisket were very good. Just wish we could've eat there.

Service was swift and friendly. Waitress split the garden salad onto 2 plates without us needing to ask. Portions are huge.

I love their turkey,sausage,and chopped pork plate!Their Mac and cheese is amazing and they run out of it everyday by 6ish, but never try to make more to make sure they don’t.The lady at the counter gets in screaming matches with other employees and is less than pleasant but most of the waitresses are great.The food is well worth putting up with the other nonsense.Best BBQ in Carlsbad!And they won’t refuse to seat you bc of your skin color like the other BBQ joint down the road

Nice little hole in the wall. I had the brisket dinner that came with two sides. My brisket was tender and very good. My husband had the ribs which he said they were good. Staff was friendly and prompt. Prices were good $30 for the two of us.

If, like me, you're a vegetarian most of the time, when you aren't, you want the best. This is the best. The BBQ is absolutely delicious. I yearn to return! Service was great too! We were there at an off-hour so I managed to get this photo without other patrons. I'm sure it's usually quite crowded!

Try this place for the first time the other day I thought locals tell me it's pretty decent for some barbecue. I got their brisket plate dinner with potato salad and some fried okra. Potato salad I was told was homemade and was actually pretty damn tasty fried okra typical fried okra could use some seasoning on it but overall not bad. The brisket itself was moderately decent there were a few good pieces in there the bark on it was nice but I think with it being so late in the day and having a chance to dry out a bit I think it would have been much better if served fairly fresh out of the smoker. Portion size overall was fair for the price. I'd be willing to go for the brisket again if I can get it fairly fresh instead of late in the day dried out but still not that bad.

Derrick is a champ. He hears everything and fills all needs. All the food was delicious. Derrick also had great recommendations about Carlsbad.

Very bad experience... Customer service was terrible once my family and myself walk in the lady was rude making ugly faces to us we where a group of twelve and she wanted to sit us in a table for six we ask several times to be move and she didn’t want to my family and myself felt very uncomfortable so we decided to leave someplace else.. We never got to order any food.

I arrived around 3pm on a Sunday and was seated immediately. The place itself it pretty small so I can imagine it gets busy fast.I had the brisket/rib meal with mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. The meal also came with bread and onion/pickle if you want them. It came rather quickly too. They have 2 kinds of BBQ sauce: a sweet and a vinegar based. I really liked the sweet BBQ.The meal itself was really good. THE BREAD..OMG, it was amazing. The ribs were delicious, as were the mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. The brisket was good, but not amazing. It was a little dry for my taste but that's just how I prefer to eat brisket. Overall great experience. Friendly service. My meal was about $16. Highly recommend.

Tasty shredded brisket sandwich. Worth the stop. Busy on Sundays during lunch, but the service was still top shelf and we didnt wait long. Highly recommend this if you are passing through Carlsbad.

Tasty BBQ. Lots of food. This place is sit-down with table service, but still reasonably fast, and the service was friendly. We've missed it on our last few trips because they aren't open late, so they've been closed by the time we return from the national park. With limited food options in the town, we will definitely try to add it to the rotation.

Brisket left a lot to be desired, but everything else was really, really good. Service was great and prices were very fair, especially with oilfield blowing and going. Not a place I'll go out of my way to eat at, but won't hesitate to go back when in Carlsbad. Pleasant environment and very family friendly. Went for a business dinner with customers and they introduced me. It isn't Texas BBQ, but it isn't in Texas!!!

That was a really good BBQ sandwich and the garden salad seemed fresh and nice for a 2:45pm lunch!

I want to give 5 stars but I’m sure it’s my fault for going out at 7:30 PM and they were packed!!! The meat was a little dry for BBQ. They were out of ribs :( waitress was super sweet! The place needs a update. Over good experience.
